Candace Yung Coaching and Consulting was founded on the traditional lands of Treaty 6 Territory - the home and gathering place for many Indigenous Peoples, including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway, Saulteaux, Inuit, and many others. As we deeply value the opportunity to live in Amiskwacîwâskahikan, we pay our respects to the Indigenous Peoples who were and continue to be true leaders in stewarding the land since time immemorial. We also acknowledge the often hidden and untold histories and relationships between Chinese migrants and Indigenous Peoples, including supporting each other in the face of marginalization, colonialism, racism, and other discriminatory policies imposed by the Canadian government. Despite the barriers, the Chinese and Indigenous Peoples still found ways to share food, medicine, and love. In the spirit of reconciliation, we will continue to honour the diverse histories, traditions, cultures, stories, teachings, and experiences of the Indigenous peoples and nations.
